The Christmas Boat Parade Ends in Port Royal's Coves. Here's How to Watch or Enter

  • October 22, 2026

Where does the Naples Bay Christmas Boat Parade go after it passes the judges? Most viewers leave once the lighted boats clear the Naples City Dock. The boats keep going. The 2026 route runs up to the Gordon River bridge, turns around and comes back down the bay "into Port Royal's Man-O-War and Morgan Cove," according to the 2026 press release from the Marine Industries Association of Collier County.

The 37th annual Marine Industries Christmas Boat Parade is on Saturday, December 19, 2026, and this year's theme is "Blossoms & Bows." Nearly every other date on the Naples holiday calendar asks Port Royal to go downtown. This one ends in Port Royal's own waters.

The Route, Leg by Leg

MIACC's route statement is short:

"The parade will start at 6:15pm from Marker 18 (Bayview park & Hamilton Harbor marina area) and will continue north to the Naples City Dock, then to Pincher's at Tin City at the Gordon River bridge, then travel back down the Bay into Port Royal's Man-O-War and Morgan Cove."

Broken into its stops, the course looks like this:

  1. Marker 18, near Bayview Park and the Hamilton Harbor marina. The boats leave at 6:15 p.m.
  2. Naples City Dock, the official judging location, where the judges and VIP guests are seated.
  3. Pincher's at Tin City, at the Gordon River bridge, where the boats turn around.
  4. Back down Naples Bay, past the waterfront restaurants and parks along the way.
  5. Man-O-War and Morgan Cove in Port Royal, the last named stretch of the route.

MIACC's event page lists the evening as running from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. The Eventbrite listing for City Dock tickets shows a wider window of 6 to 9 p.m. That listing covers admission to the dock, not the timing on the water.

This finish is not new for 2026. The WINK News preview of the 2025 parade described the same course for the 36th edition, held December 13, 2025. Boats started near Bayview Park and Hamilton Harbor Marina, ran up to Pincher's at Tin City, and then headed "back down the Bay through Port Royal's Man-O-War and Morgan Cove."

What the Last Leg Means From a Port Royal Lanai

Every entry passes the judges at the City Dock before it turns back down the bay. When the boats reach Man-O-War and Morgan Cove, the judging is over. Port Royal sees the same lights, the same costumes and the same "Blossoms & Bows" decorations as the ticketed dock. The difference is that the boats have already competed and are on the final stretch of their route.

The official viewing list does not include any Port Royal address. MIACC lists seven spots. Only the first one sells tickets.

Viewing location Access
Naples City Dock Ticketed; judging location and VIP seating
Pincher's at Tin City Listed viewing spot at the turnaround
Riverwalk Restaurant Listed viewing spot
Naples Landing Listed viewing spot
Kelly's Fish House Listed viewing spot
The Boat House on Naples Bay Listed viewing spot
Bayview Park Listed viewing spot near the start

At the time of writing, the City Dock listing on Eventbrite shows tickets at $33.85. The price on a live listing can change, and the listing does not say whether food, drinks or parking are included. The press release says only a limited number of pre-sale tickets will be offered.

For a household on Man-O-War or Morgan Cove, choosing where to watch comes down to which part of the parade you want. The City Dock has the judging and the full lineup coming up the bay in order. A Port Royal dock has the finish, close to home, with no parking.

Entering From a Port Royal Dock

The other way to see the parade is to be in it. The 2026 flyer states the terms in capital letters: "ALL BOAT SIZES WELCOME • FREE TO ENTER." A boat kept in Port Royal has a short run to the start at Marker 18. At the end of the night, the route itself brings the boat back toward Port Royal.

Entries are judged by type and length:

Division Length classes
Power, Best Entry Up to 30 ft; 31 to 40 ft; 41 to 50 ft; 51 ft and over
Sail, Best Entry Up to 35 ft; 36 ft and over
Commercial Up to 40 ft; 41 ft and over
Parade Theme "Blossoms & Bows," Best Entry

The flyer promises awards and prizes for Best in Class in each category. The press release adds a Best Overall Theme award. For a sense of scale, WINK's 2025 preview said that year's awards included gift certificates, with eight to 10 winners expected.

Three points on the 2026 entry form are worth knowing before you start decorating:

  • The captain's meeting is required. The form says "All participants must attend the Captains Meeting," which is set for Wednesday, December 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Pincher's at Tin City. That is three days before the parade.
  • Forms go to MIACC directly. Send completed forms to [email protected]. The MIACC office number is 239-682-0900.
  • The form includes a waiver. The boat owner or authorized agent agrees to take part voluntarily at their own risk and to hold harmless and indemnify MIACC, its agents, volunteers and sponsors for claims tied to participation.

This is general information, not legal or insurance advice. Owners with questions about the waiver or their coverage for an evening parade should take them to their own attorney or insurance professional.

Who the Evening Benefits

The parade is organized by the Marine Industries Association of Collier County. The group describes its work as supporting the county's recreational marine industry through advocacy, education, community involvement, workforce development and events. MIACC's event page says 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Ricky King Fund and the MIACC Foundation.

According to the Ricky King Children's Fund, the fund provides medical equipment and services for children with disabilities in Southwest Florida. The City Dock ticket is the most direct way a spectator's money reaches those programs. The press release also points to sponsorship opportunities through MIACC.

The Rest of the Season Happens Downtown

The boat parade stands out because every other major date on the Naples holiday calendar is centered downtown, on Third Street South or Fifth Avenue South, or on the Gulf beaches. Here is how the season lines up around December 19:

Date Event Where
Sat., Nov. 7 Third Street South winter market returns, 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., then every Saturday Third Street between Broad and 13th Avenue South
Mon., Nov. 23 49th Christmas on Third tree lighting, 6 to 9 p.m. Third Street South
Thanksgiving week Live music 5 to 8 p.m. and snowfall at 7 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday except Thanksgiving Day Third Street South

The year ends at the Gulf. Gulfshore Business reported that at its October 7 meeting, City Council approved the special-event application to move the fireworks back to December 31. The 2026 show had been held January 3, and the year before it was canceled. The city plans to hire a new contractor, Pyrotecnico. The outlet reported that the new show would triple the number of shots to about 3,000. City staff said the old contract delivered fewer shots and less production for the money than other cities were getting. Community Services Director Chad Merritt told Council he expects a 6:30 p.m. start. Gulfshore Business reported the contract was set for a council vote on October 21. Past New Year's Eve shows were launched near the Naples Pier and drew roughly 20,000 people to the city's beaches, according to the same report. That spot is a short drive up Gordon Drive from Port Royal.

Within that calendar, only December 19 ends inside Port Royal. A household that wants to take part from home has two dates to plan around. The first is December 16, for the captain's meeting at Pincher's. The second is the parade night itself, with the boats starting at 6:15 p.m. from Marker 18 and finishing in Man-O-War and Morgan Cove.
